Growing up, I (Brianna) heard my mom’s birth stories and thought birth would come naturally to me too. But when it was my turn, fear took over. I had read the books and tried to prepare, but when labor began, I froze. My preferences weren’t honored, my voice disappeared, and the experience left me anxious, shaken, and carrying questions I didn’t know how to process.

That experience set me on a different path. I became a labor, delivery, and postpartum nurse and began learning what actually helps women feel more supported and prepared in birth. Over the years, I’ve cared for many moms in the hospital and seen firsthand how much fear, confusion, and lack of preparation can shape the birth experience.

When I had my second baby, things were different. I wasn’t trying to control every outcome. I was grounded, informed, and more at peace. That experience showed me something I now teach other moms: peace in birth does not come from a perfect plan. It comes from preparing your heart, understanding your options, and learning how to stay anchored when things shift.

With over 40 years of combined experience, my mom and I created Birth Without Fear Blueprints to help Christian moms prepare for birth with faith, clarity, and confidence.
